Hippo PRO3 is an incredible adhesive, sealant and filler that works in the wet and even dries underwater. But how long does PRO3 take to dry? To answer this question properly, we must differentiate between the realities of a sealant being dry and fully cured.
How To Tell if PRO3 is Dry
Drying refers to a sealants condition before it is dry to touch. Modified silicones like CT1 and Hippo PRO3 dry by means of humidity, so when moisture evaporates the sealant surface becomes touch dry.

The easiest way to tell if PRO3 has dried, is to wait and then carefully test it. We suggest that you wait for at least the minimum recommended drying time before testing, whilst also considering the ambient temperature. By virtue of the fact that disturbing it before being dry, might negativly impact product performance, as well as the visual finish. So you should always test cautiously in an inconspicuous area.
At typical room temperatures of 23á´¼C and 50% humidity, colours of PRO3 will form a skin and become touch dry after about 17 minutes. And PRO3 crystal clear is a little faster at 12 minutes. However, this does not mean that it is fully cured.
How Long Does PRO3 Take to Cure?
The main difference between drying and curing is that drying is a surface level process, while curing is the chemical change taking place throughout the entire amount of PRO3.
There are many things that can impact the curing time. Similarly, because the versatility of Hippo PRO3 is so wide-ranging, its curing time can also vary depending on the chosen application.

In room temperatures of 23á´¼C and 50% humidity PRO3 takes around 24 hours to fully cure, when the bead thickness is around 2.5mm to 3mm. Naturally this time increases and decreases for larger and smaller bead widths. But for most applications and use cases PRO3 will become fully cured after 48 hours.
