Economically Fill Gaps and Cracks
Using decorators caulk is an economical way to quickly apply a finish to unsightly gaps and cracks. This is because its generally inexpensive, easy to use and can quickly be covered by paint or wallcoverings.
When to Use Decorators Caulk:
- Finish cracks between skirting boards and walls
- Filling in the small gaps between fitted furniture and walls
- Fill gaps between frames, architraves and substrates
- Plug internal gaps between window frames and walls.

Is Caulk The Same as Flexible Decorators Filler?
Flexible fillers are often referred to as caulk, but they are not always the same. Despite both being suitible for filling openings, cracks and gaps around indoor rooms, flexible fillers offer a few advantages. By contrast this normally means they are slightly more expensive.

- Longer lasting with more flexibility
- Brighter whites
- More lustrous finishes
- No need to paint.
Is Decorators Caulk The Same as Sealant?
The terms ‘caulk’, and ‘sealant’ are often used interchangeably, but they are not the same. For example caulks should never be used to seal around a bath, learn more here. While good decorators caulk products do provide low levels of flexibility when dry, it is nowhere near flexible enough to be used as a sealant.
Caulk is specially designed to fill in gaps where there will be only small amounts of movement. Then it is normally painted over for a nice finish. On the contrary sealants are used to create flexible and watertight seals at the joint between two surfaces.
