Is decorators caulk waterproof?
No. Decorators caulk is a fast drying acrylic filler that's designed for quickly filling small gaps between things like skirting boards and walls. Whilst it can offer some protection against water ingress, due to it's low levels of flexibility, it can not be trusted to provide a long term waterproof seal.
Can Decorators Caulk be Used Around a Bath?
The answer is simply no. Instead always use a specialist sealant to seal around baths, showers, and wet areas. Ideally this will be a silicone or modified silicone sealant that contains a fungicide. Unlike caulk using a good silicone will provide flexible joints that prevent long term water damage from leaks and mold growth.
