Can you add water to Hippo PVA?
Yes. Hippo PVA is soluble in water which means that different levels of dilution can be applied depending on the job. For example a mixture of 50/50 PVA and water makes a very good sealant for plaster; preparing it for painting or wallpapering.
Can Hippo PVA be used outside?
Red Hippo PVA is not deisgned for exterior use. Instead a special exterior grade version is available in black packaging. Black Hippo waterproof PVA meets european standards for wood glue durability and conforms to EN 204 D3 for woodworking. For these reasons you can use it to bond wood and once dry, each joint will be resistant to frequent exposure to water, moisture and high humidity.
